Alamo is a semi-rural community in the Contra Costa County. It was named by the Spanish in 1850 for the poplar trees that line the San Ramon Creek which runs through its land. Alamo is home to Las Trampas Regional Wilderness which contains numerous plant and animal communities residing in forested hillsides and riparian woods. Working hard to preserve the rich traditions of Alamo, the
community offers fun events and organizations unique to the town.
